We are fortunate to have a qualified and compassionate Guidance Officer available on staff at the Trade College every day of the week.

Our Guidance Officer supports students to maximise their potential and to address their concerns with care and self-respect. The Guidance Officer, Mrs Leah Pollock-Grant, is a registered teacher, with appropriate post-graduate qualifications and a wide range of responsibilities as our Trade College Business Teacher.

Students can seek their guidance for a variety of concerns including:

  • Social/emotional needs: counselling with students on a one-on-one basis or in a group setting. Assisting students with specific difficulties, acting as a mediator and the support of positive relationships during industry placements, friends, family and/or personal relationships.
  • Career guidance: working with students regarding their future study and career options including applying for tertiary courses, improving study skills, managing time, exam preparation and career pathways.
  • Industry needs: characteristics of jobs, opportunities available, developing a suitable career path, applying for jobs, apprenticeships and traineeships.

Students can contact the Guidance Officer, Mrs Leah Pollock-Grant who is located in the College Reception building, by making an appointment or visiting them directly during one of the breaks.

Parents are also more than welcome to contact our Guidance Officer by making an appointment through the College Reception.
