Highly regarded as the Trade School of Excellence on Brisbane’s northside, the Australian Trade College North Brisbane or ATCNB, has a unique approach that sets us apart from other trade schools – we integrate Queensland’s Certificate of Education, the QCE curriculum, with trade training and apprenticeship services. We offer all this on the one campus at Scarborough, giving our students the ultimate launching pad for their careers.
The ATCNB isn’t your standard school. It is a purpose built, multi-million dollar, co-educational Year 11 and Year 12, independent, trade training centre.
We pride ourselves on the ability to provide a structured and well-supported trade and business focused curriculum, leading to strong QCE attainment and employment pathways to trade jobs. This is based on the philosophy that students can reach their potential through many and varied pathways. There is not just one way to reach your career goal.
Every opportunity – that will ‘Nail the Connection’.

The College has a great leadership team. Students are offered a great opportunity in hands on learning blended with the traditional schooling for students to learn a trade and gain a Queensland Certificate of Education.
The school has helped our son to kick off a career as an Electrician assisting him in securing a full time apprenticeship.
I absolutely recommend the Australian Trade College North Brisbane for senior secondary students to transition into the work place.
Could not be happier with the Trade College. Katie moved there this year to do mechanics and is really settled. Thanks to all at the college for your hard work and great communications with families.A. Gorski - Parent of Katie who commenced Year 11 at the start of 2022
My son Thayan, started in the 2020 Cadet program. Sending Thayan to Trade College is the best thing we have ever done for him with regard to his education.
We attended a couple of the Information Evenings prior to applying. The Principal's comment about "waking up with purpose" is so accurate. Thayan now enjoys going to school, he enjoys the teaching style and the relationships with his teachers. He is a quiet person by nature, and to hear in an email from his Maths teacher and his Plumbing Trainer that he is working hard and asks questions to make sure he is on the right track, speaks volumes about how comfortable he feels in class.
He recently completed his one week work experience shadowing electricians and now has a clear path as to what he wants to do.
So once again thank you for running an amazing place, Trade College has been a game changer for our family.
Ethan secured an Apprenticeship with Sharpe Engineering located in Zillmere as an Apprentice Boilermaker. Ethan is super happy, super excited and super keen to make the most of this amazing opportunity. You can't wipe the smile off his face.
ATCNB and ATTC certainly set Ethan up for success. If it wasn't for him attending the College and being exposed to all of the opportunities that he was whilst there, his current situation would definitely be very different to what it is.
We are forever grateful. Thank you for helping set him up for success.
Good College and plenty of opportunities. My son graduated Year 12 last year (2021). He was offered three (3) apprenticeships.
My son will be attending the Trade College this year (2022), joining the Cadet Program. He attended the Chef by Trade / Try A Trade Day holiday program on the 13 April 2022. He came out of that session with a clear pathway that he wants to follow, a smile which a haven’t seen him have at his present school and two dishes he made on the day that gave him such a sense of pride in himself, I have no doubt we have made the right decision for our boy. Highly recommend the College.D. Hurst - Parent of Cadet student Andrew Hurst
