Certificate III Business

The Certificate III in Business is a qualification that will enable students to gain knowledge about the engine that drives the world, and allow then to take their skills off the page and use them towards their chosen trade career! This course supports the dream of most ATCNB students to one day own their own business.

Cert III Business

The course provides students with a range of personal and interpersonal skills with a general application to personal and work life as well as specific knowledge and skills related to employment within a variety of trade careers. This program of study enables students to respond to the ever-changing nature of business technologies, to perform a variety of tasks, to communicate effectively, to operate efficiently in business and to relate appropriately to other people.

Students develop key enterprise skills including

  • leadership and innovation
  • customer service
  • personal management
  • diversity and teamwork
  • product life cycle – through project-based learning

The course culminates with Year 12 students working towards the annual Business Trade Show. The Trade Show enables students to work in small business teams to create and develop an innovative product that would assist tradespeople in the workplace. Each team develops a product prototype, produces promotional materials and then put their customer service and sales skills to the test. Students (business owners) set up stalls in the College Hall in an expo style and recommend their products and services to Trade Show customers who are cashed up with virtual Trade Show cash.

To be awarded this qualification, competency must be achieved in 1 core unit plus 11 electives units.
