They are dedicated to passing on the basic knowledge and entry-level skills to help students build a career and progress on to further study. Students will learn how to greet and prepare clients for salon services, communication as part of a salon team, and how to perform basic salon duties including blow-drying, shampoo and basin services, basic colour application and removal, braiding and the recommendation of products to clients.


Requirements for completion of SHB20216 Certificate II in Salon Assistant (Hairdressing)

To be awarded this qualification, competency must be achieved in 8 core units and 4 elective units.
