At the Trade College, our essential learning program allows you to earn a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) outcome at the end of Year 12 by studying Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) registered subjects.
The College curriculum is centred on the components of the Queensland senior curriculum that are most relevant to young apprentices and trainees such as Essential English, Essential Mathematics, Business Studies and Industry Preparation.
The core subjects – what we call ‘Essential Learnings’ – of Maths, English, Business and Industry Preparation, are taught in a way to ensure there is a purpose and industry specific link to each specific trade program.
The College embeds the subject of Industry Preparation across all year levels, assisting students to develop interview, resume writing, goal setting, teamwork, communication and employability skills.
